Greetings, seven (7) years ago, almost to the day, I received the diagnosis of Colon Cancer and was informed that I needed an operation on 1st November 2017 (All Saints Day). It turned out to be a surprisingly fitting day for such an event. Two years later, I underwent surgery to remove a piece of my lung because a cancer cell had managed to survive the six months of chemotherapy and had settled there. The discovery was made by my surgeon the day after a routine scan. Since then, I have been under the diligent care of Mr. Velchuru, the surgeon referred to me by my GP.
On 1st August 2023, I had another examination, and I received the joyous news that I am now discharged and declared Cancer-free, back to the care of my GP.
Throughout this journey, the support and kindness shown by countless individuals, including many I have not even be aware of, has been profoundly humbling. I am immensely grateful for all the prayers, mass cards, well-wishes, and thoughts extended to me and my family over the years.
On Sunday 20 August 2023, St. Mary's Sunday mass at 09:00 will be dedicated to everyone who helped and prayed for me and my family during my illness, life would have been harder without your prayers and support, Thank you.
There are far too many people to thank than I can get on this list but most importantly, I need to thank Janice, my rock during it all and my Surgeon, Mr. Velchuru and the wonderful staff at the James Paget Hospital and the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital, they are all aptly named 'Angels.'
